Full-time Leader – Unity Church

The church:

Unity is a thriving, growing community church, located on an estate of high social and economic needs.  We have a diverse but cohesive congregation and a large unchurched fringe.  We run a Community Fridge, CAP Job Club and Life Skills, Community Gym and Dance, Outreach Youth Club and Community Garden – all Jesus-focussed and powered by prayer.  We praise God for those who have come to faith through engagement with community projects and the discovery Bible Study or Alpha.

The job role:

A leader among co-equals in the leadership team.  Able to mobilise the whole church to seek God in prayer.  Help the church in it’s forward calling in a flexible and creative way.  Teach, preach and share love and knowledge of God and the Bible.  Lead teams, work within teams, encourage and gently discipline when required.  Engage in outward facing ministries serving the community.  Make disciplemakers and teach others to do the same.  Listen to and depend upon God for spirit-inspired envisioning and power.  Humbly love, value and listen to others.

Location:

Orpington, Kent (London Borough of Bromley)

Hours and salary:

37.5 hours per week spread over at least 5 days with agreed day off each week.

£35,000-£45,000 per annum dependent on experience.
